Your Action Can Make a Difference

Did you know the last two by-elections for trustee only, the winning candidate received only 2,427 votes (Mar. 09) and only 666 votes (Jun 08). There are 43,377 voters in this Ward. Using that example that would mean less than 6% and 2% voted. That is not democracy that is a travesty.

You owe it to yourself to vote.

If you are a Canadian Citizen, 18 or older, lived in the School Division for the past 6 months and live in the Ward on Nov. 26 you Can and Should Vote.

Community Advance polls Nov. 17-21, Seniors Advance Polls from Nov. 7-17 or use the Mail-in voting option. Please call 311 for dates and details.

On Nov. 26, Vote for

  1. We have to do our part and vote you on the school board.

  2. I always suspected few people voted for school trustees but your information above is shocking. Who knew?

You don't have to own property or have children in school to vote, all you have to be is an adult who lives in the ward. This affects us all whether we own a home, a condo, live in an apartment or a seniors complex because property taxes are a big expense and because education is so important.

Voter turn out may be even lower with a Saturday election, late November, long weekend in states to go shopping, Grey Cup on Sunday (GO BOMBERS) lets hope people vote it is so important.
